Just a quick hello...

Have you ever had it when you were away from something for a bit and when you tried to return, you were a bit unsure where to start. Well, that is where I find myself tonight. It has been forever since I’ve blogged. Sometimes life has a way of interrupting….

When I returned home from conference, let’s just say there has been a few life circumstances that required my focus and time. This week has been spent in trying to regain some balance.

So, where to start…

How about with this pic:

"I fought like a girl and WON!!"

This picture was taken at the Avera Race against Breast Cancer the Saturday before my conference trip. The two gentlemen in the pic with me are my hubby and son. If you remember, I had every intention of running the 5K in this race, but my stamina and strength didn’t permit me to achieve this goal. So, all of you who have gone through treatment, please give yourself permission to set goals, but also give yourself grace when the goals need to be readjusted.  I was able to do the walk..and hoping that I can begin my attempt at training again soon.

Don’t you just love the saying on my shirt? When I decided to post this pic of me and my new t-shirt, I began thinking about what it means to win in the race against cancer. To me winning was having the bravery to face treatment, experiencing the love and support from others, and loving the second chance of living a life of no regrets!

Well, blogger friends, I have missed you and I have an afternoon blocked out this Saturday to catch up with reading your blogs…and hopefully an update from the conference.

Looking forward to hearing about the conference Kim! Do love the shirt. I bought a bunch of similar shirts that said "Run Like A Girl" and sold them as a fund-raiser for TNT.
I love what you said about allowing yourself to set goals and give yourself grace. As a runner, I have struggled n both of these areas. Best of luck in future training, wish you lived closer and could join my 5k class!

Balance can be so hard to come by, but good for you for recognizing the need to step away and address what you needed to. Will wait patiently to hear about your conference and yes, I love the shirt!!

Looking forward to the highlights of the conference. Love the t-shirt. Our team name for the Race is MOMS for MAMS. MOMS is for Mothers of Multiples.

Kim, I'm glad you readjusted your running goal. I walked my 10K, there's no way I would have even attempted to run it. You are right, we must be patient with ourselves too! Take your time getting caught up. I'm a bit behind too and keep telling myself it's ok. Trouble is, it's hard to listen to my own advice! Can't wait to hear about the conference. I've always wanted to attend one.

Thanks again for the thoughtful gift!! Love it. I'm saving them...

Kim,
Great accomplishment in just walking the 5K, that in it's self is an accomplishment. So congrats to you. Looking forward to hearing about the conference.

I was blog hopping tonight and I cannot believe my luck in finding you and your blog! I am a two time breast cancer survivor and so I feel an instant connection! I will be speaking tomorrow night at our local Relay for Life here in WA state and before the relay I will be heading to Seattle for my 6 month checkup...

I have not done the walk/race you did here but I do the Race for the Cure every year (walk the 5k) and I do Relay for Life.

anyway, I am a new follower!!!

be blessed!
