Air Travel Tips

Hi there!  Just thought I would post a quick request for any tips on travel that any of you may have...

Next week, I will board a plane, travel to Minneapolis and transfer to another plane and than proceed to North Carolina for the long anticipated She Speaks Conference.  For simplicity sake, I will be doing only carry on luggage with a purse.  Any tips you can share for this first timer, would be greatly appreciated!  Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

Hi Kim :) Please forgive me for taking so long to stop by and thank you for your kind comments on my Blog and for all your prayers :) I am so sorry for all that you have already endured with this awful Disease and I thank you for sharing your experience here in Blogville. It truly helps this "newbie!" God Bless you my dear and I'll be back to visit with you soon.

Hi Kim, I wrote this post http://dwellinginthesecretplace.blogspot.com/2009/05/flying-high.html after my first flight. Truly, the big plane wasn't bad, even the itty bitty plane wasn't bad on the return trip. I made the mistake of putting my driver's liscense in the tray with my shoes, etc...(before boarding) and was held up a right good while before I could get it back to go through the metal detectors. Be sure you have the correct size bottles, I saw a lot of people have their stuff trashed. Be prepared for people in a huge hurry who will run you slap over if you don't get out of the way. This small town girl found that really hard. I hope you have an awesome flight! Maybe I'll get to meet you at She Speaks.

Hi Kim! I think Deanna gives really good advice! You have plenty of time to connect and Minn. is a easy airport. Where is your seat? Do you know what gate you are going to arrive in Charlotte? It is a big airport but also very easy to get along in. I just wish I was going to be there to pick you up but you will be in my prayers. I will also send you Nicki's phone number in an email. Hugs

Hi Kim,

I read your Blog on a regular basis, although I don't comment very often. However, as a "road warrior" I can say MSP airport is one of the easiest to get arround in. Look at a map of the terminal ahead of time. There is a tram from one end of the A,B and C gates to the other end where the E,F and D gates are. G gates are in the middle and off to one side. So, If you go to the low number G gates, consider taking the tram to the end (E,F and D). If your gate is in the high G numbers, get off at the middle stop of the tram. This will save you a lot of walking.

Whatever you do, relax and enjoy! People can be very entertaining to watch.
